Working to save stray dogs in the North East
We believe that all dogs no matter what their age or state of health should be given a chance, looking at the before and after stories of dogs on this page makes this so worthwhile.
Although we appreciate all support given, we frequently do need to ask for a little extra help. Often some dogs require expensive continuing treatment which the charity struggles to afford.
Our average vet bills are £1500 a month and rising. This we feel is the reason why a lot of these dogs are sadly abandoned and come in to our care.
The dogs all give so much back in return so if you can help in any way such as holding a coffee morning etc please do contact us.
Thank you for reading our Desperate Dogs page which will include dogs in need of special support and dogs that have been waiting for a home for some time.

CALLING ALL GENUINE STAFFY LOVERS.Buster has now been in kennels for 16 months. For the first year his owner was ill but hoped to be reunited with him. Sadly this was not to be as he had to go into care leaving SOS to find Buster a home. Buster is approximately 6 years old, he is a friendly energetic dog desperately in need of a permanent home, preferably as the only dog and with someone who can give him plenty of exercise and lots of affection. Have you got room in your home and your heart for Buster? If you feel you can help by offering a permanent or foster home please contact Carol on 01642 317163. |
Gunner |

|
Gunner is a rough coated lurcher who is about 4 yrs old. He came to us from the local dog pound and we think he has been a working dog at some time. He is very friendly, rather goofy, and talks to you. Loves going for walks and to play.Gunner seems fine with other dogs but we do not know about cats. He has just come in to us so more information later as he settles in. Gunner has been with us for a while now and really needs a loving home soon. He is a happy dog who would love a caring family of his own. Please do consider coming to see him. |
